Berwick Youth Choir


Berwick Youth Choir (BYC) was founded in 1986 by highly-regarded music educator Jean Heriot, OAM, and has risen to become one of Australia’s finest children’s choirs. Our choir offers high quality, low cost, comprehensive music education to all children in this rapidly-expanding area of south-east Melbourne.

Our choristers, who are aged between 5 and 18 years,  come to us from a wide area including the City of Casey, Shire of Cardinia and the Shire of West Gippsland. Weekly rehearsals are held at Casey College in Narre Warren.

Our highly trained and dedicated music teachers aim to ensure that all children enjoy developing skills in music reading, aural training and vocal technique. They using a wide range of high quality music and innovative teaching methods based on the teaching methods of prominent Hungarian music educator Zoltán Kodály.
